Nonprofits are messy. You may have heard me say that before.
But nonprofits are so so so critical. The sector is like a compass pointing the way to a truly civil society.
You fight to protect the rights of immigrants or LGBTQ people. Find shelter for the homeless. Stand up to racism. Research cures to life-threatening diseases. Remind us of the beauty of the world through art and music. Provide access to education for at-risk populations. Fight against human trafficking. Tend to people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Help animals.
You make a difference in people’s lives. Again and again and again. That makes you, in my eyes, a superhero!
And if you’re a leader at a nonprofit, you know that it takes a village. It’s impossible to do it all on your own… even if you ARE kind of on your own. And so many nonprofit leaders I hear from do often feel alone, overwhelmed, and awfully frustrated in their jobs.
But I truly believe that if you stepped up and took a leadership position at a nonprofit, you’re a superhero. And like any superhero, you need support. Your Justice League or Avengers… A group of fellow superheroes and supporters in your corner.
And that’s why I’m SO excited today to announce that I’ve opened the doors of the Nonprofit Leadership Lab to new members!
I created the Lab to help nonprofit leaders like you – both on the board and the staff – with the ongoing education, support, and community you need to thrive.

Boot Camps
Several times a year, we run “boot camps” where Lab members have the opportunity to go deeper and accomplish more in a shorter time period than they might have thought possible. Boot camps are expert-guided intensives lasting approximately eight weeks and include pep talks, weekly homework, watch parties, live feedback sessions, and private small group activities.
We have fundraising, grant writing, and board bootcamps available, all at no extra charge to members. The fundraising bootcamp can even earn you CFRE credit.
Daily Drip
Think of this like a tiny sip of professional development to start your day off right. Usually, it’s a very short video designed to just take a few minutes to consume.
Special “Members-Only” Discounts
We are constantly looking to partner with product and service providers to offer valuable discounts to our members.

The Lab was intentionally designed to be affordable for smaller nonprofits. I know how expensive it can be to hire consultants or pay for professional development training.
That’s why the Lab costs just $47 per month. Less than a daily cup of coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts (not even Starbucks). You can save additional money by signing up for an annual membership for $470, saving two months of fees.
Honestly, if you get just one valuable thing from the Lab all year it more than pays for itself. Most of our members get a lot more than that!
